Temple Grafton v Wellesbourne Cricket Club CHL Saturday 2nd XI on Sat 30 Aug 2014 at 1.30pm
Wellesbourne Cricket Club Lost By 46 Runs

Match report Wellesbourne Second XI season ended their 2014 campaign with a defeat at Temple Grafton – a loss which sees the Loxley Road side finish 5th in the Second Division. After winning the toss in damp and overcast conditions the Wellesbourne bowlers struggled to find their line and length with Benjamin (64) and Harvey (81 not out) the main beneficiaries. Singleton (2-51) was the pick of the bowlers with Wheeler and Dann taking one wicket each as Grafton ended their innings on 245-4. In reply Wellesbourne openers Dann (18) and Wheeler (43) set about their task with determination racing to 37 in the 8th over before Dann was caught off the bowling of Benjamin. Wheeler continued to bat positively but just as he was starting to cut loose was brilliantly caught at midwicket by Powell off the bowling of Hopkins. Singleton (47), Jordan (35) and Jarrett (32) struggled to maintain the required rate and all perished in the pursuit. Wellesbourne finally closed their innings and season on 199-5.
