Wellesbourne Cricket Club CHL Saturday 2nd XI v Badsey on Sat 09 Aug 2014 at 1.30pm
Wellesbourne Cricket Club Won By 10 Wickets

Match report Wellesbourne Second XI kept their hopes of promotion to the First Division alive with an emphatic 10 wicket victory over Badsey at Loxley Road on Saturday. After winning the toss and electing to field, Wellesbourne opening bowler Joe Jordan set about dismantling the Badsey top order with an outstanding 5 wicket haul. This hostile spell of pace bowling included a career first hat-trick. With the top order back in the pavilion the Badsey innings faltered and despite a mini revival led by the hard hitting Evans the Badsey innings concluded in the 30th over with their score on 74.
Determined not to let the opportunity to gain maximum points from the encounter slip, Wellesbourne owners Dann and Wheeler started cautiously. However after Dann had dispatched Clarke's 4th over for 18 the runs flowed and the game was wrapped up in the 10th over. Dann finished on 44 and Wheeler 28. Wellesbourne travel to Exhall and Wixford hoping to further press their promotion claims.
