Wellesbourne Cricket Club CHL Saturday 1st XI v Exhall & Wixford on Sat 22 Jul 2017 at 1.30pm
Match was Abandoned

Match report Rain was the winner unfortunately in the much-awaited top-of-the-table clash between Wellesbourne and Exhall & Wixford and with the extra point gained from this match Bourne now lead the table by three points from Exhall with six games to go with Norton Lindsey in third 25 points behind and Shipston in fourth a further nine points adrift. Bourne had won the toss and decided to bowl first. It was a good move as Arron Snipe soon grabbed the wicket of Julian Morris to an outstanding catch by John Edden and with Gary Maynard bowling tightly at the other end (10-3-0-18) Exhall found runs hard to come by apart from a spate of wides and no balls. Sean Hopwood then enticed V Balasubramanian (10) to top edge to Jamie Maynard making the score 40 for two. With rain imminent Bourne strived for more wickets but Sam Smith (20 not out) and Dave Mullett (25 not out) managed to see the visitors to 80 in the 25th over before play was abandoned. Hopwood 1-24 and Snipe 1-28.
