Shipston on Stour v Wellesbourne Cricket Club CHL Saturday 1st XI on Sat 09 May 2015 at 1.30pm
Wellesbourne Cricket Club Lost

Match report A below par batting performance from Wellesbourne and some disciplined bowling from Shipston gave the reigning champions a comfortable eight-wicket victory at London Road. Bourne made a bad start to the game when Gary Maynard was out in the first over to a catch at point by Harry Dube off Matt Corby and things never really recovered as no-one seemed to be able to play an innings of substance. With Bourne finding runs being hard to come by Shipston skipper Corby decided to take pace off the ball and it soon paid dividends as Ben Cox was introduced into the attack and struck straightway as he had Dave Barnett leg before for 10 with the score on 22. Luke Canning then bowled Harry Jackman and Cox then removed opener Nick Gabbett for 10 and Bourne were struggling on 31 for four. Jamie Maynard and John Edden tried to rally the innings and both were beginning to look settled when Edden (11) holed out in the deep to Jack Murphy off a full toss from Justin Saker with the score on 49. Craig Cook, making his debut, joined Maynard and with Cox and Saker both bowling tightly and astute field placings, they slowly took the total to 62 before Maynard trying to up the run-rate was caught and bowled by Saker for a top score of 15. Cox then picked up his third wicket trapping Jonny Spence in front before young Dube bowled Travis Butcher, also making his debut, and Bourne were 75 for eight. Saker then removed Cook and Joe Jordan was run out to complete a miserable afternoon for the visitors, who ended on a paltry 87 all out. Cox and Saker had the identical figures of 10 overs, four maidens, three wickets for 14 runs and Shipston were truly satisfied with their efforts in the field. With such a small target to bowl at Bourne needed an early wicket but Corby and Julian Morris, although having one or two early scares, soon took the score along to 50 without much trouble before Corby holed out to Butcher off Jamie Maynard for 21. Jack Murphy soon followed to a catch from Tom Stephenson off Jackman but Morris and Saker saw the champions home. Morris ending on 41 not out and Saker 13 not out. Maynard 1-16 and Jackman 1-22.
